UntitledIranian volleyball players edge pass Spain in friendly


The national Iranian men’s U20 volleyball team lined up against their Spanish counterparts in a friendly match on Wednesday and won the event straight-set, 28-26, 25-18 and 28-26. Iran’s head coach Behrouz Ataei initially sent out Ali Ramezani, Mohammad Rasouli, Amir Hossein Esfandiyar Mohammad Kazem Ghaffari, Ali Yousefpour, Bijan Barati, and Mirbabak Mousavi. Rasoul Aghcheli, Tayyib Eini, Tohid Samadi, Esmail Mosafer, Esmail Talebi, Ali Asghar Mojarrad, Mostafa Khalili, Javad Karimi, and Akbar Velayee later joined the line-up. At the end of the game held in Spanish city of Palencia, Mahmoud Rasouli of Iran’s squad was named the top scorer of the match. Hosted in Koahsiung of Chinese Taipei, the 18th edition of Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship will kick off on July 9, 2016 and will run through July 17, 2016. Iranians are pitted against Qatar, a team from Central Zone and Hong Kong in Pool B of the continental tournament. Hosting Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Kazakhstan and Myanmar are drawn in Pool A. Pool C comprises China, Japan, India and a team from Western Zone, while South Korea, Bahrain, Sri Lanka and Australia are in Pool D.
